Bhagalpur, 15th June. Political strategist turned activist-politician Prashant Kishor has accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of compromising his principles for political survival, alleging that Kumar “touched the feet” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure his continuation in power.
Kishor, who was addressing a public meeting in Bhagalpur as part of his ‘Jan Suraaj’ campaign, slammed Kumar for his perceived alliance with the BJP and claimed Kumar brought shame to Bihar by seeking Modi’s support.
“People ask me why I am criticizing Nitish Kumar now, despite working with him in the past. He was different back then. His conscience had not been put up for sale,” remarked Kishor, who had managed Kumar’s election campaign in 2015 and joined JD(U) formally later. Referring to a recent NDA meeting in Delhi, Kishor alleged, “The leader of a state should uphold its pride. But Nitish Kumar brought shame to Bihar when he touched PM Modi’s feet.”
Kumar’s JD(U) won 12 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, making it the second largest NDA ally after TDP. Kishor claimed Kumar is not utilizing his political influence for Bihar’s benefit but rather to secure his own position with BJP support beyond the 2025 assembly elections.
Prashant Kishor gained prominence for managing PM Modi’s successful 2014 Lok Sabha campaign and has since worked with several prominent politicians before shifting focus to activism in recent years.
