Mumbai, 17th May. Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), has lambasted the BJP for its failure to convey any coherent narrative to the people during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. In an interview with TV9 Marathi, he highlighted issues like unemployment and inflation, asserting that the public is discontent with the BJP’s governance over the past decade.
Thackeray remarked, “The BJP has not succeeded in communicating any narrative to the people in this election. Its farce of the last ten years is visible to the country.”
Responding to queries about Muslims leaning towards Shiv Sena (UBT) following the party’s split with the BJP, Thackeray emphasized that their Hindutva ideology remains intact. He differentiated between Shiv Sena’s Hindutva, which he claimed uplifts households, and BJP’s Hindutva, which he alleged destroys homes.
Thackeray also referenced the “Dharavi model” employed during his tenure as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, stating that it gained popularity without discriminating against any community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dismissing BJP’s allegations of opposition promoting “vote-Jihad,” Thackeray asserted that such claims would not sway public opinion.
Moreover, Thackeray criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for purportedly failing to comprehend the true essence of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray’s Hindutva and ideals.
