GG News Bureau
PUNE, 11th May. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) condemns a serious breach of electoral conduct in the ongoing election campaign for the 34-Pune Lok Sabha Constituency by the Congress party.
It has come to our attention that the Congress candidate, Revindra Dhangekar, has displayed the NCP’s symbol, the clock, incorrectly in their campaign materials. This act not only violates electoral laws but also misleads the voters, constituting fraud and a criminal breach of law.
NCP’s State General Secretary, Shivajirao Garje, has filed a complaint with the State Election Office, demanding immediate action against the Congress candidate. We also request the seizure of all publicity materials of the Congress candidate for Pune Lok Sabha.
National Chief Spokesperson, Brijmohan Shrivastav, stated that according to the Representation of the People Act, misrepresentation of our party symbols by the Congress candidate is a criminal act. The Election Commission of India has authorized the clock as our party symbol. Any unauthorized usage of our symbol is illegal and misleading, undermining the integrity of the electoral process.
Brijmohan further stated therefore, we have formally lodged a complaint with the State Election Officer, Maharashtra, urging immediate action against . Revindra Dhangekar and requesting the registration of a case against him for this blatant violation.
Chief National Spokesperson stated that we believe in fair and transparent elections, where voters can make informed decisions based on accurate information. Such acts of deception have no place in our democratic system and must be dealt with swiftly and decisively. So we call upon the authorities to take prompt action to ensure that the electoral process remains free from manipulation and deceit.
