23 Candidates Vying for Gurgaon Lok Sabha Seat

As the electoral landscape takes shape, Gurgaon prepares for a heated contest with 23 candidates throwing their hats into the ring for the coveted Lok Sabha seat. After the withdrawal of three contenders on the final day of nomination withdrawals, the stage is set for a diverse electoral battle.

The polling day, slated for May 25, will witness a single-phase voting across all 10 Parliamentary constituencies in Haryana, including Gurgaon.

Nishant Kumar Yadav, Gurgaon District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, confirmed the allocation of election symbols to all candidates, signaling the official commencement of the electoral race.

Out of the 23 aspirants, 14 represent registered political parties, while the remaining nine are Independent candidates, reflecting a blend of established party politics and individual aspirations.

Among the notable contenders are Rao Inderjit Singh from the BJP, incumbent Member of Parliament and Union Minister; Raj Babbar from the Congress; Rahul Yadav, popularly known as Fazilpuria, representing the Jannayak Janta Party; Vijay Kumar from the Bahujan Samaj Party; and Sohrab Khan from the Indian National Lok Dal.

The dynamics of the race intensified as Balwan Singh, Rahul Thakran, and Soni Hemlata withdrew their nominations on Thursday, reshaping the competitive landscape and setting the stage for a captivating electoral showdown.

With diverse ideologies, backgrounds, and aspirations, the electorate of Gurgaon braces itself for a decisive electoral mandate come polling day.
