NCP Leader Supriya Sule Alleges BJP Conspiracy as Sister-in-Law Enters Baramati Poll Fray

Pune, 1st April.
Supriya Sule, a leader of the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) and daughter of Sharad Pawar, claimed that the BJP has planned to nominate her sister-in-law, Sunetra Pawar, to run against her in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat in an attempt to undermine her father’s position.

During an interview with ANI in Pune, Sule stated that her fight is not personal but against the mindset and policies of the opposition. She emphasized that in her 18 years in politics, she has never made any personal attacks on individuals.

Sule explained that Sunetra Pawar, who is married to her elder brother, holds a special place in the family as the elder sister-in-law and a mother figure to her.

She criticized the BJP for engaging in dirty politics by pitting family members against each other. Sule believes that the BJP’s motive is to create division within the family and tarnish the reputation of Sharad Pawar, rather than focusing on the development of the constituency.

Meanwhile, Sunetra Pawar expressed gratitude to several political figures for their support after being named the official candidate for the Baramati seat by the Grand Alliance.

The Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has become a significant battleground in Maharashtra’s elections, with candidates from both the Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar factions of the NCP competing against each other.

Supriya Sule will be contesting for the Baramati seat for the third time, while Sunetra Pawar will be entering politics for the first time in this election.

Maharashtra will hold Lok Sabha polls in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. The state, with 48 Lok Sabha seats, plays a crucial role in shaping national politics, with the BJP emerging as the largest party in the 2019 elections.
