BJP Convenes Core Group Meetings Across 8 States to Strategize on Lok Sabha Candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday held core committee meetings at the party headquarters to discuss potential candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in various states.

The states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha, Sikkim, Maharashtra, and Gujarat were the focus of these meetings.
The meeting was chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party National General Secretary BL Santosh in attendance.

The first state discussed was Uttar Pradesh, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak, and BJP Uttar Pradesh president Bhupendra Chaudhary present. The meeting covered 25 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, with discussions on potential candidates and alliances.

In subsequent phases, meetings were held to strategize on elections in Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and Maharashtra. Various state leaders and party officials were present to discuss candidates and election strategies.

Additionally, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray arrived in Delhi and is expected to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. There are speculations that Raj Thackeray may join the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP Mahayuti alliance and be given two Lok Sabha seats.

Raj Thackeray commented, “I don’t know my schedule yet. I was asked to come to Delhi. Let’s see what happens.”
