New Delhi, 15th March.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, virtually inaugurated the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) innovative Digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS) on Thursday, alongside the opening of two new NIA branch offices and a residential complex.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these initiatives are poised to bolster India’s counterterrorism and organized crime efforts.

The CCMS, developed by the NIA, aims to enhance coordination in terrorism and organized crime cases, fostering improved justice delivery. This user-friendly and customizable browser-based software will empower NIA personnel and state police forces in their investigations and prosecutions.

The system’s launch aligns with the Home Minister’s vision for a structured and synergized approach to law enforcement, as expressed during the ‘Anti-Terror Conference’ in October 2023.

In addition to the CCMS, Amit Shah inaugurated two new NIA branch offices in Jammu and Kochi, along with a residential complex in Raipur. These modern facilities will provide a safe and secure environment for NIA officers and personnel to operate effectively in combating terrorism and left-wing extremism.

The Home Minister emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to streamline investigations, boost conviction rates, and address evolving threats such as cybercrime and terrorist financing. The CCMS will not only standardize investigations but also facilitate data compilation across the country, strengthening cooperation between central and state agencies.

Furthermore, Amit Shah highlighted the significance of the CCMS in implementing newly legislated criminal laws, underscoring its role in enhancing supervision and preparedness among law enforcement agencies.
