PM Modi to Visit Gujarat and Rajasthan on March 12, to Inaugurate Developmental Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a significant visit to Gujarat and Rajasthan on March 12, 2024. The visit encompasses the inauguration of crucial infrastructure projects and witnessing the Bharat Shakti exercise, showcasing the nation’s indigenous defence capabilities.

The Prime Minister’s itinerary begins with the dedication and foundation stone-laying ceremony of various developmental projects worth over Rs. 85,000 crore in Ahmedabad. Subsequently, PM Modi will inaugurate the Kochrab Ashram and launch the Master Plan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial in Sabarmati.

In a monumental event, PM Modi will then witness the ‘Bharat Shakti’ exercise, a Tri-Services Firing and Manoeuvre Exercise, at Pokhran, Rajasthan. The exercise aims to demonstrate the prowess of indigenous defence capabilities, reflecting India’s strides towards self-reliance in defence. An array of indigenous weapon systems and platforms will be on display, showcasing integrated operational capabilities across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains.

Key equipment and weapons systems participating in the exercise include T-90 (IM) Tanks, Dhanush and Sarang Gun Systems, Akash Weapons System, Logistics Drones, Robotic Mules, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Naval Anti-Ship Missiles, Autonomous Cargo Carrying Aerial Vehicles, and Expendable Aerial Targets, among others.

The ‘Bharat Shakti’ exercise underscores India’s readiness to confront contemporary and future challenges with home-grown solutions, symbolizing resilience, innovation, and strength in defence capabilities. It exemplifies the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in defence and showcases the ingenuity and commitment of the indigenous defence industry.

Furthermore, PM Modi’s visit to Gujarat will witness the dedication of multiple key sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor project and the flagging off of 10 new Vande Bharat trains, among other initiatives aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure and connectivity.

The unveiling of the Kochrab Ashram and the launch of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial Master Plan in Sabarmati reflect the government’s efforts to uphold and cherish Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and philosophy for present and future generations. The project will revitalise Gandhian teachings and foster the essence of Gandhian values, enriching the cultural and intellectual landscape.

PM Modi’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructure development, promoting self-reliance in defence, and preserving the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, thus contributing to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
