Viksit Bharat Calls for Needo-education of Gita-based Needonomics
By Prof. M. M. Goel
New Delhi, March 04 –
Addressing the imperative need for a paradigm shift in economic thinking, Former Vice Chancellor Madan Mohan Goel, the visionary behind Needonomics School of Thought and superannuated Professor of Economics from Kurukshetra University, emphasized the importance of needo-education of needonomics grounded in the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

The discourse took place during a seminar titled “Relevance of Gita-based Needonomics for Viksit Bharat,” hosted by P.G.D.A.V. College (Evening), University of Delhi. Dr. Priyanka Chatterjee, Convener of the Culture & Ethics Cell, commenced the event with a warm welcome, acknowledging Prof. M.M. Goel’s scholarly contributions with a citation in recognition of his achievements. The esteemed Principal of the college, Prof. R.K. Gupta, chaired the proceedings, while Ms Deepika Sharma, Convener of Kautilya Parishad, extended the vote of thanks.

Prof. Goel underscored the pivotal role of needonomics as a spiritual compass in steering Bharat towards Viksit (developed) status by 2047. He emphasized the necessity of cultivating a collective consciousness rooted in a shared sense of responsibility to drive meaningful societal change.

“In fostering a needo-mindset for investment, we must prioritize saving and depositing in banks,” Prof. Goel remarked, cautioning against the unchecked pursuit of greed. He advocated for the adoption of needo-consumption to reshape individuals’ savings behavior, positing its potential to mitigate inflation.

Highlighting the transformative power of needonomics, Prof. Goel declared, “Needonomics embodies the promise of sustainable development, nurturing contentment through needo-happiness. Embracing needonomics with an altruistic spirit holds the key to a brighter tomorrow.”

Professor Goel called for widespread awareness and adoption of needonomics, envisioning a future where societal progress hinges on prioritizing needs over greed. The presence of esteemed academics such as Prof. Anita Bajaj (IQAC), Dr. Lalita Singh (Viksit Bharat Committee), Dr. Anand Kumar (Phoenix), and Dr. Ruchita Machal (English Literary Society) further enriched the discourse.
