New Delhi, 5th March. Senior BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda, made a symbolic addition to their social media profiles on Monday by adding ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ (Modi’s Family) after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that the entire country is his family.
This display of unity by the BJP’s top brass came in response to remarks made by RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, who took a dig at the prime minister over his having no family. Addressing a rally in Adilabad, Telangana, Modi criticized “dynasty parties,” emphasizing that despite having different faces, their common trait is “jhoot and loot” (lies and corruption).
Asserting that the 140 crore people of the country constitute his family, Modi’s statement drew a swift response from the BJP, which highlighted that the entire nation stands as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s family.
The BJP’s national spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, condemned the trend of personal attacks on Modi by opposition parties, labeling such remarks as “petty.” Trivedi emphasized that these attacks have persisted for over a decade, with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s recent comments at a rally in Patna being the latest instance.
Trivedi reminded Yadav that Prime Minister Modi views the entire nation as his family, dismissing attempts to draw attention to his personal life.
Opposition parties have coalesced into the INDIA bloc to counter the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with political tensions escalating as campaigning intensifies.
