President Murmu Urges Cultural Preservation and Compassionate Leadership at Utkal University Convocation

Bhubaneswar, 1st March. President of India Droupadi Murmu graced and addressed the 53rd convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
In her address, President Murmu lauded Utkal University’s significant contributions to education, not only in Odisha but across India. She acknowledged the institution’s status as a leading university in the country, renowned for its campus, environment, and teaching legacy. The President paid homage to the visionaries whose efforts have shaped the university’s journey.
Reflecting on her personal connection to the university, President Murmu expressed her gratitude for being a student of Utkal University. She highlighted the achievements of numerous alumni who have brought honor to the institution through their exemplary work in various fields.
President Murmu emphasized the university’s substantial impact, with over two lakh students enrolled in colleges affiliated with Utkal University. She expressed satisfaction at the higher percentage of female students, urging all students to cultivate human qualities such as modesty, humility, love, and compassion.
Stressing the importance of peace and harmony for human existence, she encouraged compassion not only towards fellow humans but also towards all living and non-living beings.
Drawing from her own experiences, President Murmu recalled the emphasis placed on loving one’s mother, motherland, and mother tongue during her school days.
She highlighted the significance of education in one’s mother tongue, emphasizing its role in preserving culture and connecting individuals with their heritage.
President Murmu urged the graduates to recognize and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage while nurturing the country’s knowledge tradition.
