Elections in Karnataka: 8.26 Percent Turnout in First Two Hours of Voting

Bengaluru, 10th May. According to Election Commission data, a voter turnout of 8.26% was registered in the first two hours of voting in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections on Wednesday.

Until 9 a.m., the coastal district of Udupi had the highest percentage (13.28%) and Chamarajanagar district had the lowest (5.75%).

Voting for the Assembly’s 224 members began at 7 a.m. and will continue until 6 p.m.

The major election contest is between the ruling BJP, the Congress, and the Janata Dal (Secular), which is led by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
