New Delhi, 3rd Feb. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a mega budget Reach Out campaign across India on February 4 and 5, to highlight what the budget means for each and every citizen, regardless of age, caste, creed, or profession.
Union ministers will travel across the nation for this budget reach out drive.
“During this reach out programme, union ministers will hold a press conference on the budget and at the same time interact with people across the strata, including prominent citizens and intellectuals,” top sources said.
Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda met with the ministers to finalize the program’s details.
According to reports, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will travel to Jammu, while Tourism Minister G Kishen Reddy will travel to Kochi.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics and Technology Rajeev B Chandrashekar will travel to Coimbatore, while Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal will visit Raipur, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will visit Bhopal, and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Bengaluru.
Other ministers’ schedules are also being finalized.
The Budget, which is expected to be the last by the BJP-led NDA government before the general elections next year, was presented on Wednesday by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who announced one of the largest increases in capital spending in a decade and predicted that the fiscal deficit would fall next year.
During her nearly one-and-a-half-hour speech, the Finance Minister announced that the government aims to increase capital expenditure outlay by 33% to 10 lakh crore in 2023-24, representing 3.3% of GDP.
The Budget Session of the Parliament started on Tuesday with the President’s address, which was followed by the tabling of the Economic Survey for 2022-23.
