Hyderabad, 8th May.
Seven individuals, including a four-year-old child, lost their lives when a retaining wall at an under-construction apartment collapsed because of heavy rain in the Bachupally area, as per the police report on Wednesday.

The victims, who were migrant workers from Odisha and Chhattisgarh, were tragically killed in the incident that occurred on Tuesday evening, with their bodies being recovered early on Wednesday from under the debris using an excavator.

Heavy rain caused chaos in Hyderabad and various parts of Telangana on Tuesday, resulting in waterlogging and traffic congestion in many areas of the city.

Disaster Relief Force (DRF) teams were dispatched to clear water stagnation and fallen trees in different parts of the city, as confirmed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials.

Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Danakishore, along with GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose, visited several waterlogged areas to provide instructions to the DRF teams on the ground in the city.
