60th Pratishtha Divas & Janmashtami Celebrations Illuminate Sri Sri Radha Krishna Mandir in Manipuri Basti, Guwahati

Guwahati, 27th August. The Sri Sri Radha Krishna Mandir in Manipuri Basti, Guwahati, was a hive of spiritual activity as it hosted the 60th Pratishtha Divas of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Janmashtami celebrations on August 26, 2024. The event was marked by a significant gathering of devotees, distinguished guests, and members of the VHP.

Sri Bidhan Chandra Roy, the Uttar Pub Prantiya Sahya Sompadok, delivered an enlightening speech about the history and background of the VHP, emphasizing its role in promoting Hindu values and culture. He also spoke about the significance of Janmashtami, celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, and its spiritual importance.

The ceremony also witnessed the formation of the Manipuri Basti Division Khanda of the VHP. L. Hemanta Singh was appointed as the President, M. Proodip Singh as Secretary, and M. Brain as the Bajrang Dal Sanyojak. The new office bearers were warmly welcomed and their roles in the organization were outlined.

Key participants included Ratul Deka, Secretary of Guwahati Mahanagar VHP; U. Deepak Singh, President of Ulubari Prokhonda VHP; and senior member H. Bira Singh. Notable attendees included Dr. Ankita Dutta, Poonam Sharma, L. Champa Devi from the Manipuri Basti Meira Paibi Women’s Association, and several other community members like N. Priyadarshini Moirangthem, Nalini Devi, Dhurbo Sharma, Dibakar Bhattacharjee, Arup Sharma, Prakash Goswami, and Sukukanta Behera.

The celebrations continued into the night with a Bhagavad Gita Prabachan session, where devotees engaged in a profound study of the sacred text. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the deep devotion and vibrant community spirit of the Manipuri Basti residents.”
