340 crore released by centre for Assam flood relief

A major relief fund for flood in Assam has been released by centre government. Centre has released Rs 340 crore for flood relief work in Assam.

Jitendra Singh the minister in charge of Development of North-Eastern region (DoNER) holded a high level meeting in Guwahati with the state government where the present condition of the current situation was assessed and evaluated.

Minister said, “Rs 101 crore was released by the DoNER, while the remaining Rs 239 crore was given by the Home Ministry under the State Disaster Relief Fund”. He also complimented state government for their prompt response and timely taken measures to avoid further loss.

So far, 26 persons have lost their lives in flood the minister have bereaved the families of the lost one.
