Lucknow, 23rd Oct. A 27-year-old man was arrested in Rampur Kalan for allegedly creating and sharing an “objectionable” video involving a poster of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati. The incident occurred during the festival of Karwa Chauth, a Hindu tradition where women fast for their husbands’ long lives.

In the controversial video, the accused, identified as Lavesh Saini, is seen looking at Mayawati’s poster through a sieve, blowing a kiss, and offering it water. This act drew outrage from BSP supporters, prompting them to file a complaint at the local police station.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain confirmed that a case was registered following the complaint. Saini was arrested on Tuesday for his actions, which were deemed disrespectful to the BSP leader and the traditions associated with Karwa Chauth.

The police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
