20 Years of Tata Mumbai Marathon: Registrations Open for Landmark 20th Edition

Mumbai, 15th August. Celebrating two decades of transforming India’s sporting landscape, the Tata Mumbai Marathon has officially launched registrations for its historic 20th edition.

Scheduled for January 19, 2025, the marathon will commence from the renowned Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Procam International, the event’s promoters, announced that registrations open today at 7 a.m. via www.tatamumbaimarathon.procam.in.

Chhagan Bhujbal, Maharashtra’s Minister of Food & Civil Supplies, reflected on the marathon’s evolution since its inception in 2004, noting its rise from humble beginnings to becoming a cherished festival of Mumbai. He highlighted the marathon’s role in fostering unity and resilience, especially evident during the 2008 terror attacks, where the event became a symbol of collective strength.

Rahul Narwekar, Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, praised the marathon for epitomizing Mumbai’s spirit and its impact on India’s diverse cultural and economic fabric. He extended a warm welcome to all stakeholders for the upcoming event, promising full support.

Adrian Terron, Head of Brand & Marketing at Tata Sons, emphasized the marathon’s integral role in both Mumbai’s and India’s sporting calendars, underscoring its global significance in promoting participative sports.

The Tata Mumbai Marathon has greatly influenced India’s approach to sports, sparking a surge in running events and clubs across the country. It has also empowered women’s participation and provided opportunities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The event has raised substantial funds for charities and contributed to economic and social development.

This year’s marathon will see participation from various segments including amateur runners, charity participants, and those with disabilities.
