Doda, 18th July. Two army personnel were injured during a gunfight with terrorists in Jaddan Bata village, Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, early Thursday.
The encounter, lasting over an hour, occurred when terrorists attacked a temporary security camp set up in a government school during ongoing search operations.
In another incident, security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector, Rajouri district, opened fire following suspicious movement late Wednesday. A subsequent search revealed no evidence linked to the movement.
A massive search operation is ongoing following the recent killing of four army personnel, including a captain, in Desa forests. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar, Ramban range, Shridhar Patil confirmed ongoing operations, citing successful engagements with terrorists.
Despite heavy rains and dense fog posing challenges, security forces are intensifying efforts to track down the fleeing terrorists, believed to be involved in recent attacks.
Doda district, previously cleared of terrorism in 2005, has seen heightened militant activity since June, including several encounters and casualties.
