14-Year-Old Student Stabbed to Death in East Delhi; Seven Apprehended, Including Schoolmates

New Delhi, 4th Jan. A 14-year-old student was allegedly stabbed to death outside his school in the Shakarpur area of East Delhi on Friday evening. The police have apprehended seven people, including three schoolmates, in connection with the incident.

The altercation leading to the tragedy reportedly began around 6 pm when the victim, a Class 9 student, got into a dispute with several other students. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Abhishek Dhania, confirmed that seven suspects, including five juveniles, were arrested. The suspects had reportedly planned to flee the city but were apprehended before they could escape.

The police recovered the knife used in the murder, along with other critical evidence. According to DCP Dhania, investigations revealed that during a break at 4 pm, one of the victim’s classmates borrowed a mobile phone, made a call, and discussed a dispute with the victim. The classmate reportedly instructed the person on the other end to “send people.” By 6 pm, as the students were leaving school, the accused classmate was seen waiting outside with a group of attackers.

The situation escalated when one of the accomplices stabbed the victim in his right thigh, causing severe injuries. The attackers fled the scene, but school staff immediately administered first aid and rushed the victim to Hedgewar Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to GTB Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Following the attack, three specialized teams reviewed CCTV footage, interviewed witnesses, and analyzed technical evidence to identify the suspects. Their efforts led to the swift apprehension of all seven accused while they were attempting to escape.

Among those arrested are five juveniles and two adults: Saarthi, a 19-year-old college student, and Aman Kumar, a 31-year-old dairy shop owner. Critical evidence, including blood-stained clothes, shoes, and the knife used in the attack, was seized. The police are continuing their investigation into the specific roles and motives of each individual involved.

Authorities are also examining CCTV footage to understand the sequence of events leading to the tragic stabbing.
