Imphal: Security forces in Manipur detained 12 militants of different outlawed insurgent groups during the last two days, as per police reports on Monday.

Three active cadres of the United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) were arrested on Saturday from the Langol Type-II locality in Imphal West district.

Also, a Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL) member was arrested close to the India-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district.

Further ramping up the crackdown, two active cadres of the outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-PWG) were arrested in operations at Lamphel and Samurou in Imphal West district.

The authorities have confirmed that investigations on the activities and networks of the arrested militants are already ongoing.
