UK court will announce Mallya extradition on 10 December

London, England: A UK court has fixed 10th December as the date to deliver its verdict on whether beleaguered liquor baron Vijay Mallya can be extradited to India in a 9,000 crore rupee bank fraud and money laundering case.

Marking the conclusion of the trial, Westminster Magistrates’ Court Judge Emma Arbuthnot said, the most important point is the prima facie case, indicating that other issues relating to prison conditions would be secondary.

The Judge heard the closing arguments in the extradition proceedings as well as reviewed the prison cell which has been prepared for Mallya in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail.

Vijay Mallya, 62, is facing a trial in the UK Court to rule if he can be extradited to India to face charges for financial irregularities involving a total amount of Rs 9,000 crore, as well as money laundering cases.
