Chairman of RS congratulated newly elected Dy Chairman

New Delhi: The election process of Deputy Chairman saw Journalist turned politician to sit in the chair. The Chairman of Rajya Sabha and Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Harivansh Narayan Singh to lead the house for upcoming session.

Venkaiah said, “I heartily congratulate Shri Harivansh ji on his election as Deputy Chairman of this august House today. It is an honour conferred on him by this august House.”

I have noticed Harivansh ji making constructive suggestions in the meetings of the Business Advisory Committee and also my daily meetings with leaders of various parties. On all such occasions, his suggestions and interventions were clearly driven by his commitment to enable smooth functioning of the House, Venkaiah added.

Chairman of Rajya Sabha also congratulated B.K. Hariprasad for contesting in the election which saw the spirit of Democracy.

Harivansh- A Journalist turned Politician

Harivansh in his younger age was a keen student and used to talk less normally but pitched in with very logical and convincing perspectives during debates.

He hails from Uttar Pradesh resides in Jharkhand and is the member of house from Bihar that makes him understand the three state of India like Venkaiah who hails from Andhra Pradesh and has been member of house from Karnataka and Rajasthan.

Harivansh who is calm, cool and smiling in a nature did his schooling in a government school and took his post graduation from Banaras Hindu University. He worked as a journalist of repute in major media organizations. He was Editor of ‘Prabhat Khabar’. He choose to work in the small media organization to took the issue of small towns that mostly goes un-heard in the national media.

Harivansh gave up the comfortable job in a nationalized Bank to work in the field of journalism. He also has the experience of governance system having been Advisor to former Prime Minister Chandrasekhar.
